Department of Economics, Uppsala University

The research at the Department of Economics is primarily directed at macroeconomics (including economic growth), public economics, labour economics and capital markets. In addition, there is ongoing research dealing with econometrics and income distribution. The postgraduate program in economics at Uppsala offers two degrees, the Ph.D. and the Ph.L. The Ph.D. degree requires the equivalent of four years of full-time studies, while the Ph.L. degree may be completed in two years.
During the academic year 2000/2001 54 people were involved in research projects at the department; 24 of these were senior staff members, while the rest were graduate students.
