Nicola Cortinovis

Nicola Cortinovis has joined Tinbergen Institute as a candidate fellow. Nicola is an assistant professor of Regional and Industrial Economics at the department of Applied Economics of the Erasmus School of Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam. He holds a PhD in Economic Geography from Utrecht University and wrote his thesis on “Industrial dynamics, space and networks in European regions”.

His research focuses on the growth and development of regional economies in Europe, in particular studying the interplay between internal factors (agglomeration economies, industrial composition, institutions) and external ones (FDI, trade and spatial relations).
