Program Structure

Tinbergen Institute offers a Research Master’s Program with three tracks: in economics, in econometrics and in finance.

Program Structure

In the first year, all tracks offer rigorous training in the core subjects and tools of economics, econometrics and finance. In the second year, students specialize in their choice from among the institute’s many fields of research through field course work and research master thesis research. Students who perform well in the program usually continue in the three-year PhD program. Students in the PhD program typically spend most or all of their time on research. More detailed information can be found in the study guide.
