VU Econometrics team runner up in Econometric Game 2010
A VU Econometrics team finished as a close runner up in the Econometric Game 2010,
a three day Advanced Applied Econometrics competition that ended yesterday (the 14th of April 2010). They were narrowly beaten by a Monash Econometrics team.
This is a remarkable achievement, as they beat 23 strong teams universities with well known
econometrics programs in education and research like Cambridge, Chicago, Oxford, London, Madrid, Aarhus, Boston and so on and so on.
This was by far the best VU result since the Econometric Game became a worldwide competition.
The team consisted of Marcel Scharth (TI MPhil alumnus and PhD student), Geert Mesters (PhD
student), Giovanni Ganzinotti (MSc student), Bouk van Geloven (MSc student) and Stephen Kastoryano (TI MPhil alumnus and PhD student economics).
Congratulations Marcel, Geert, Giovanni, Bouk and Stephen!
